چکیده
Purpose This study presents the results of empirical measurements thermal performance retrofitted secondary glazed windows, involving installation an additional windowpane, in a residential context Australia. Design/methodology/approach In situ temperature were collected from surfaces windows two buildings Australian Capital Territory. The heat loss savings and subsequently electricity calculated based on these measurements. Findings Heat reductions up to 60.8% 9.96% could be achieved by retrofitting single with glazing. findings suggest that is comparable double windows. Practical implications Multiple provide better energy efficiency, acoustic compared It estimated, however, 85% still have Secondary glazing has emerged as cost-efficient easier-to-install alternative this research can contribute wider market uptake Australia showing they similar Originality/value first attempt empirically measure windowpane setting provision original window. متن کاملEffects of Southern Wall Angle on Heating Performance and Energy Consumption of Residential Buildings in Yazd
The southern wall plays an important role on heating perfrmance and energy consumption of residential buildings. This study investigates the effects of southern wall angle, glass area and external canopy on heating perfrmance and energy consumption of a typical residential building in Yazd. Using causality method and thermal simulation by DesignBuilder simulator, we examined energy consumption ...
